2008

Tor Harald Blom – Jinglepaper Studio in 2008.

Thank you everyone for a great year!

Last year was the most active year so far. There has been different productions going trough the studio, and some is still going. So when we look back, what happed last year.

A cup of TEA – A diary in memory of the forest.
A comic production that went online last year and was online weekly the first half year. It was a weekly comic online about global warming and loss of biodiversity. When this year ended I can sadly inform that we have lost spices of Delphine in China. It has gone into the history, and this along with the other spices makes the world less. It like Jack (Johnny Depp) say in the last Pirates movie “The world is not getting smaller, it is just less in it!” This topic is as important today as yesterday, and will be in the future. The comic will remain online for some time. You can read it on the www.jinglepaper.com website.

“In the Mist” and “MistgriM”
This summer I started the project “In the Mist” that is going to be a short film some time in the future, maybe. But in the process the idea for a children book came out of this. The production of the story and concept has nearly been finished in 2008, and also 8 of the 36 pages is finished. If you want to see images from both pages and concepts, you can go to www.torharaldblom.com.

“P” for Parable Volum 2.

This is a comic made for the comic anthology Parable volum 2. It is a 10 page mystery, it looks like an old document. The first volum will hopefully be out this year. News and info about the Parable project you can find on the Parable website.

Production for others.
- Helene Bøksle, she is well known Norwegian singer, and she is now coming with here second record, that sounds great I made a Flash website and illustration for here music video.
- Jotun AS, paint production company. Illustration for commercial.
- Flekkefjord Kirkelige Fellesråd. The local church in Flekkefjord. Build them a website and helped them to continue it as a news and information site. I also build a database containing the information of all the property that is in the churches. This is part of a national project to document everything for future generations.

It looks like there is going to be several projects coming up in 2009 that will be fun to work on. Among them a TV commercial. Hopefully will the children book MistgriM also be finished this year to.

In the deep forest.

MistgriM - In the deep forest.

Here is a concept art for MistgriM, it is a look into the deep forest where the strange creatures live. A hidden friendly world we find there. This illustration is part of the exploration of the Mist world before the real work begin.

A cup of TEA – A look into the future. This and next month A cup of TEA will look into the world of tomorrow. How will our life be? What will change? And how will the forest change? This and other questions is something that the comic look into. We base the knowledge on technology that we know is being produced or that is ready to be produced. Hopefully the look into the future also can be inspiration to others.

MistgriM

This is the project that is currently in development at Jinglepaper Studio. It is part of the project “In the Mist” and from the same world, and the short film with the same name is slowly in development. More info about MistgriM will come later, and you can follow new updates on the animated short “In the Mist” here on this blog.

P is my story for Parable Anthology 2 that I think will come out next year, it is a 10 page treasure map/old document style comic. So far people has told that it looks strange but good, and I don`t think anyone who has seen it have found the treasure within the document/comic. More info about it will come later some time.

It is spring and feels like summer, so if you want to learn more about how nature works and the big question of our time, then turn over to the A cup of TEA comic for weekly updates.
