The Knight and the little boy.

I made this illustration for a short story by one of the best known children’s authors in Norway, Alf Prøysen. The story is called “Ridder Ranke og den lille gutten.” (The Knight and the little boy.) It was a commissioned work for a book called “Bestemors Eventyrbok” (Grandmothers Fairytale book) published by Juritzen Forlag.

Fun thing about making illustrations like this is to find ways to put in small extra things for the one who looks at the picture. So there is references to two other things that Alf Prøysen made. They are for one song and also to one of the best known characters he made for another story.
